Ordinance & License Committee — August 10, 2026
The city is updating its snow shoveling rules: property owners now get 24 hours instead of 12 to clear sidewalks, and the requirement is clarified to cover homes where a grass strip separates the lot from the sidewalk. Enforcement is complaint-driven, with the city hiring a contractor and billing non-compliant owners. Elderly residents raised concerns about clearing fire hydrants, but no exemption exists in the ordinance.
